Gustavik's golfcourse

On 6 June 1988 Gustavsvik's golfcourse was constituted. The area was once a sea bed and it was also an airport. The 9th hole was a dog race track but it has now been moved to Bista because the same year on 20 October they started to build the new 18-hole course, before that it was just 5 holes and a drill-ground. Hole 13 is the absolute hardest hole but at the same time the funniest, it is a very small hole with a wave fairway and rocky forests on both sides of the fairway it matches perfectly to the last 9 holes that are relly hard. For the moment Gusvatavsvik's golfcourse is a 27-hole course with 9 holes in a park, 9 holes of in a forst and 9 holes that are a short hole course.

Kulturhuset (culture center)

The aim of``Kulturhuset´´is to be a meeting place for everyone who likes culture and entertainment. We would love to help you with your arrangements. We also help you with advise, grants and halls.

Are you in an association and you don´t have halls for your activities or for your meetings? In the building there are halls for dance, theater, creating or music arrangements. We also have a union room for you and your association can get access to for all your meetings.

``Kulturhuset´´is situated downtown Örebro, near the train station. The halls are flexible to fit most needs, we will adapt to your wishes. A busy day the halls maybe uses for a convention daytime and later made to a concert hall in the evening. Are you interested in renting halls? Hästhagen (Resort region)

Hästhagen is a resort region in karlslund. There lies a camping site and a bathing place at Svartån.
There you can also for example, play miniature golf, volleyball, frisbeegolf, jump trampoline, climbing climbing wall and play football.

You can also rent a canoe or buy a cup of coffee at the kiosk at the miniature golf.
If you want, you can go and visit Karslund, which is Sweden´s largest riding club.

Max (hamburger chain)

Max is a Swedish hamburger chain. It opend in 1964 five years before the first Mc Donald opend in Sweden. Max is availble in 42 different cities in Sweden, in Örebro there are 3 resturants, one of these lies at Eurostop one at Behrn Arena and one at Marieberg Centrum.

Max Prizes:

• The prize "best food" in competion between Burger king, Mc donalds and Max.

• Sweden´s most satisfied customers.
  

Max has many different hamburger dishes, for example "Maxmål" which indudes pommes frites and an optional drink for about 60crowns, it is aboout the same as 6 euro.

Stora Holmen. (For children)

Stora holmen also called barnens ö "childrens island" is opposite to the big playground in stadsparken. Around the island the creek Svartån flows. There are two different ways to come to Stora holmen, you can eithertake the back way at Örebro uneversity hospital. Or you can go over "Svartån" in a rowboat. The name of the boat is "Viktoria" and it goes once a fifteen minutes.
Stora holmen is a very popular place, you can for example pedal pedal car in a clachan or you can play in the playground or buy coffe and ice cream.
Around the island goes the train "Lillaputtetåget", that is a little train going around the island every hour (se picture below) on the island there also animals, for example horses, pigs and sheep.

Örebro GK

Örebro GK lies in the county of Lekeberg and Örebro GK is Örebro's nicest golf course. The course was built in 1939. During the first year they had 111 members. Örebro GK has two courses, one 18 hole-course and one 9 hole-course. The 9 hole-course became ready in 2003 and the 18 hole-course was ready in 1962. Örebro GK has restored the club house. You get a free ticket to Thailand, if you do a hole-in-one. The course has a good fairway and fast greens. There are not many water hinders.

Behrn arena!

Örebros biggest soccerarena is Behrn arena. At first it was named Eyravallen, but in 2005 Behrn fastigheter bought it and renamed it. The arena was built in 1923 and has been rebuilt several times, for example the stand, and they have switched to fake grass. Behrn arena has always been one of Sweden's most classic arenas. ÖSK and KIF ladies team are hometeams of Behrn arena. ÖSK has two teams engaged in the national series game. First class team has 25 players and 10 people working around the team. The older players have soccer as their work, while the younger still go to school. And the talent team, or ÖSK ungdom plays in class 3. KIF ladies team was formed in 1980. They are really good, and are doing theur best season ever. The audience record during a soccergame was ÖSK against Degerfors on 8 October 1961. It was over 20.000 people who watched that game. But the overall record has nothing to do with soccer, it was when Gyllene tider performed in the summer of 2004, 22.495 screaming fans enjoyed the music. The band isn't so famous around the world, but the frontman Per Gessle is also a member of Roxette with Marie Fredrikson, he has had a huge hit with " It must have been love "
